My name is Mieke Smit, I’m a South African artist with a lifelong passion for capturing the soul of the wild.
My journey with art began at the tender age of 4, with crayon sketches that evolved into my first oil painting at just 6 years old. Today, I find my voice in the fine lines and intricate details of pen ink, drawing inspiration from the raw beauty of African wildlife.
While my focus is on wildlife, my artistic journey has taken me across various mediums and styles, each adding a new layer to my craft.
